I just got a new Squier Mikey Way Mustang and I want to replace the stock strings with Chromes. My question is, should I go with the short scale pack or medium scale? SS was my instinct until I read a review that said a string-through SS bass should have medium scale strings. Now I seek the wisdom of TB to tell me what I should get!

You need the medium scale chromes if your mustang has thru body strings.

I would recommend the GHS Pressurewound Medium scale for a Mustang bass.
Keep them in mind in case you are not sold on the Chromes.

Thanks! It's my first SS so I just wanted to confirm what I read elsewhere. I had Chromes on a long-scale bass and loved them.

LaBella has a specific Mustang set. Otherwise, what Jason said.
