Chuck E. is gone…

    Chuck E. Weiss, a singer/singwriter, all around character, and fixture on the L.A. scene(and not well known outside of it) apparently has died after a long illness. No info as of this writing yet, but a friend of my wife knew him, and posted news on FB. If this turns out to be erroneous, I’ll take down this post. You’re probably thinking, “Who the hell was he?” Well, a mentor/running buddy of Tom Waits, and one time paramour of Rickie Lee Jones, inspiring her first big hit, “Chuck E’s In Love”, for a start. This will explain everything….

    In other words, a ‘there won’t be another one like him’ kinda guy.

    I can remember reading something kind of interesting about him a few months ago, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Maybe just the fact that I discovered he was a real person.
