Cirrus5 string spacing?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by bas_anton, Mar 25, 2003.

  1. I´ve just tried a cirrus four string, and I loved it. I´ve been thinkin on getting a Cirrus 5 string bass but I never tried one. I liked the spacing on the 4. How is the 5er compared to the 4? I´ve tried a Warwick Streamer Jazzman 5 and think the string spacing is too tight. Can somebody answer my qyestion?

    Please excuse my English!!!

  2. Sorry!!

I know that qyestion is spelled question!!!

    Hope I´m right!!

  3. The string spacing on the Cirrus 5 is definately tighter than on the 4. I don't think it's quite as tight as the Warwick 5, though. The Warwick 5is 16.5mm, and I believe the Cirrus 5 is about 17mm (the 4-string is probably 19mm).

The default spacing is around 17mm. The Cirrus has an ABM bridge, which has adjustable spacing. You can make it a little wider with some adjustment, but not much.
