Other than Mesa, are there any lightweight class d amps with a tube pre amp currently being offered?

    What do you consider lightweight?

    G.K. MB Fusion 800.

Big 3-D low end, power, punch, clarity with that G.K. feeling of a fast transient.

    6.3 lbs.

(And bonus, I got this one used from the T.B. Classifieds in great condition with carry bag, foot switch, manual for well under half of what it sold for new.)

JFA Sisma is my current but not a class D. It's class G. The Mesa heads of coarse. And I've been reading here about Fuch's new bass heads.

Fuchs FBT series, 300W and 700W models with an SVT based preamp. They also make the FBS series which has a solid state preamp.

Currently being offered... in the used market on a regular basis... the Shuttle series from Genz Benz. If you've never sampled a Shuttle and you want an affordable option that's class D with tube, this could be something.

I have a Shuttle 6.0 that gets just as much use as my tube-free GK MB 500. Love them both and they've both given me zero issues through the few years I've gigged them.

i owned the fuchs and that was possibly the best sounding tube-pre i've tried. my only complaint about that one was the lack of an input gain LED. amazing sounding amp if you like the SVT sound.

the hartke one, for what it is, is a perfectly usable amp for most of us. they're inexpensive and reliable.

i suspect more of these designs will be on the market soon. i genuinely don't know if theres new tech going into these tube preamps, but the more recent releases seem to have something more going on than the tube preamps from years ago?

they may just be better amps, who knows.

i don't recall if i've used the mesa subway amps with a tube in it but they seem very well received.

Carvins. I had the B1000. I don't think the tube did anything. The BX ones may do something.

GK Fusion S-- lots of pre tube I believe 3. - I'll get one eventually

Genz Benz -- some models. I had a Shuttlemax 12 briefly

If you want grind with a kick GK Fusion S

Darkglass Microtubes made me forget about real tubes.

But the Orange Terror Bass does sound sweet :)

Ashdown probably makes some nowadays but I’m not familiar with all of their products because they make so many !

OTHO, I heard their Little Bastard tube amp with a basic USA pro II Fender Precision Bass and the sound was jaw dropping ! Extremely sweet but with authority.

They also make a 15 watt amp similar to their Little Bastard that looks interesting………….. I might get one and use it as a preamp if that’s feasible of course.
