Classic 80s bass lines

Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by count_funkula, Jul 27, 2001.

  1. OK bassists, I need some ideas.

A couple of friends of mine (both guitar players) have a thing going called "Mystery Lick o' the Week". Every week they record themselves playing a short guitar lick and we all try and figure out what song it is from. They all come from stuff we listened to when we were younger (rock and metal from the 80s).

I'm going to join in with a bass lick/riff of the week. I need ideas for famous 80s bass lines. Things like Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath would be perfect. They can't be too difficult, I want them to recognize what I'm playing.

Lets hear some ideas from all you 80s rock warriors!!

    Rock On!! :^)

As you said: Iron Maiden should work fine (just about any song).

You could also play (I am not sure if that's all from the 80s):
