We need some eye candy! Post your classic combinations!
Here is mine!
The bass is long lost (my brother's), the amp's been replaced - I learned on a '54 P into a B15N. Don't get much more classic than that.
Not sure how "classic" it is, but in my locale playing in garage bands in the early to mid 90s it was always a cheap P bass into a giant heavy Peavey. It was the "classic" garage band sound. In my case a cheap Samick into a Peavy that seemingly weighed as much as a car. I got rid of both of those in the intervening years however.
i don't think i've ever had any "classic combinations." but yours sure has the look!
I'm sure the definition of 'classic combination' can be fluid. Just wanted some eye candy for a Monday.
totally with you! i tried thinking back: i came up with a fretless peavey fury + a peavey TNT 115, but i doubt i'd have any pictures --- i wouldn't know where to look! and i think that was in the 80s, anyway --- maybe not a "classic" decade.
but trust me = it was killer!
where are the old farts when you need 'em!?!
Ummm, I'll try:
Not quite what you meant? Oh well, that's the most classic combo I have.
pretty classic in my book
Here's a couple of mine. I'm sure that I have more, will just have to look for them.
Here are my two
No pics but in '75 as a teen I was rocking a 4001 with Rotos, and a Sunn Coliseum Lead head w 6x12 cab. And my mom made me shirts with wizard sleeves (not kidding).
Not sure it's a classic but it's a combination I like. Another one is marmite and goat's cheese.
Rick 4003 + GK RB800 + Ampeg 115.
Stevie Ray Vaughan approves of this picture...
