A recent eBay score has some rust on the frets at the edges just above the fretboard. My thought for cleaning was the masking tape/0000 steel wool method. Is there a better way to do the job? Dremel with a polishing wheel maybe?

I just use some metal polish on a little old wash cloth, seemed to work fine in the past. Oh I will either use Mothers mild polish in the green container, or if its bad theirs a more abrasive type in a red container. Both can be picked up at your local walmart. I also use never dull on the metal parts of my bass, brudge, pickguard, and control plate. Gota keep it looking good.

I use metal polish, like Brasso, with a cotton cloth. Masking the fingerboard is good.
