Cleaning up rusty pickup magnets

    I dont want to wreck the plastic, or end up with a bunch of metal dust stuck to the poles.

    Pencil erasers. If you're too concerned about the eraser scratching the plastic, you can take the covers off first. Just pay attention the the height you presently have the pickups set to presently, so you can return them to that height The eraser doesn't shine them up like new if they are pitted., but will get the rust off. To protect them in the future clear fingernail polish works well.
