Hey this is an offbeat question I suppose, and pertains actually more to double bass than bass guitar, so if I'm barking up the wrong tree or entitled to insults or whatever is proper threadicate, so be it.

But I am looking for a very clear sounding volume pedal that also has a wah function that works well, one that won't mess with the tone of my upright or make it sound like a bass guitar or just lots of bottom. I've been way into the Esbjörn Svensson trio lately, and just got a wonderful little GK backline that sounds great with my upright, that happens to have a distortion channel that I've been digging.

So I just wanted a good volume pedal to use on gigs to control my volume better, and thought some wah might be fun to work with. thanks for any help, I look forward to whatever snarky comments I shall inevitably recieve :)

  2. Yup, the EBS is a very subtle wah. Sounds like exactly what you're after.

For "clean" volume you can't go past a passive pedal like the EB VP Jr.
