Aaanndd...just got off the phone with Cliff...looks like I'm in for another! Alder or poplar, maple burl top, pink ivory lined fingerboard, passive, 2 pickups, coil switches. Simple!

My last build with Cliff was from the same supply. I loved it so much I decided to do it again. It's a beauty.
So, I am about 2 months in with my new singlecut.
I hate it. Seriously. Kind of angry......
....that it took this long for me to have found what has turned out to be the one I have been looking for! String response is instant, fat, punchy, clear, totally flexible. For real...Cliff Should be charging double for what you get!!

Thanks Scott! It responds like a great fretless does..that immediacy and warmth..just killing on the band stand!
I've had the fretless 5 for about 4 or 5 months now and it's pretty much the only one that gets played. And I have some other great basses, too.
I agree that Cliff is a bargain for what you get. Fortunately my price is locked in. Last I heard he is counting down to retirement. He had 80 basses to go. I think it's now 76? I dunno. I'm grateful I got mine in when I did.
Ah really? Man the mind can't help but wonder about getting in one more time. I'm happy to let someone else get one though. Happy with my SCB and if he retires I'll be stoked I got one when I did.
76 basses is still a fair amount?
I'm hanging on for a lottery win, so I can activate my bass bucket list plans!
Let's hope Cliff is still building if/when it happens...
