I love my new bass! I think this is my 9th CB bass, even though they have all been amazing, this one is my favorite! It is light weight with a giant tone. The Wenge neck gives it so much punch! The Maple wood between the Wenge neck and Wenge fretboard was a great idea.

20180922_182637. I am now part of the Bordwell family, woot woot! Just picked up a Bordwell Rami 5 from an awesome guy overseas. While it was not a custom build just for me, it is awesome, and the neck is outstanding. Will see if I can get comfortable with the 19mm spacing. The neck is fairly thin (not chunky), so I think it will work.

I am now considering a custom build, but guessing there is a long line:)

    Peace

I love that bass, I think it has a Yellow Heart wood top. Congratulations and welcome!
Cliff’s very helpful and quick to respond to emails, just shoot him an email on his soonest build time @

Some times you can get lucky and he has an open spot that’s a quick turn around.

It is one awesome bass, I love it.
It is definitely my favorite bass I have ever owned. The sound, look, and feel of it is just amazing. Cliff has never let me down.
My son has been trying to get his little hands on it a lot too.

  9. I saw this Poplar, Canarywood, Spanish Cedar and Bloodwood bass on Facebook recently and it prompted me to reach out to inquire about it. Absolutely on my wishlist. Really sweet instrument!

Does this belong to one of our TalkBass members?

That top with the gold hardware looks really nice!

You place an order for another one? I’ve been talking to Cliff about a 7 string fretted short scale bass idea with a roasted maple neck.

The owner must be happy about their new instrument! Cliff says that bass is a 32" scale. It is making me want to take the plunge on a medium scale tuned EADGCF!

I have done the EADGC before, and it makes for a fun bass! So EADGCF would be great.
Having different options definitely keeps you playing more and makes you play differently as well.

Anyone on the board in this current build?

Agreed. My wife says that I will never be satisfied only tuning EADG. It has taken me years to realize that she is totally correct about this! As you say, more options allow for more options. I like my musical options...

Yes, the pics are in post #821.
It was a Bubinga top and back with Ash body core with a few layers of Purple Heart. I got some Nordstrand singles in it with a Nordstrand 3 band preamp and I love it.

As far as ordering another one, I have been in talks with Cliff about a possible 6 string 32" scale fretted bass. It might even be a SC body.

I usually take my time between orders because I enjoy coming up with all of the ideas and seeing how they change over time until I get the bass I had dreamed up.
Cliff is good at putting up with me in that way.
