Nice figure on that body! CB too!
Always a treat to see a natural finish, I just love those looks.
Wake up and smell the coffee Sunshine. Migrant farm workers, poultry processing workers in the US are notoriously underpaid and taken advantage of. The same with garment industry workers. US industry has a long and documented history of worker abuse. But that isn't what this forum is about folks. So I'm off my soapbox. Peace!
Don't forget prisoners "forced labor " was protected by the constitution, 13 amend.
Walmart, Amazon, Microsoft and a whole host of others all use prison labor.
Totally - I don't think anyone would dispute that.
But we're comparing one 5h1tty situation, with an even more 5h1tty situation, and ignoring that latter because it's in a land far away, when the former is happening locally.
They're both unacceptable.
When I was a resident alien in America, I enjoyed taxation, without representation - so I had to vote with my wallet.
At least now I'm back in the U.K. I can vote with a ballot, and apply additional pressure for change.
Seven days & no posts ?
Well let's hope that this will put us back on track.
Finally got my Classic Amplification pickups two weeks ago & must say they are fantastic.
More Ric sounding, which is what I was after, big bottom end with an organic rawness & sweet highs.
So this little project has worked out extremely well, so this is now my number one gigging bass &
with the DR Hi Beams, is a monster. Excellent for under $700.
That is a stone-cold beauty ^^^^^^^^^^^
oh man that is cooler that $#!&
That is one beautiful bass friend.
That top is even more quilty than my quilt, and unbound fretboard? Yes please!
Great choice of bridge, too.
I'm about to negotiate the Chinese minefield and order a 4004LK husk, at the same time as ordering all the parts for my Ultimate Super Duper Jazz Bass. I see a lot of delivery men in my future. Stop sniggering at the back.
Get an un-stained LK if possible, the CNC work looks decent, but the stain they use looks awful. Post photos! Review!
It's (allegedly) unstained. I have a plan.
Update on my Japanese copy:
I wasn’t entirely happy with the look of my aluminum treble surround, so I decided to put the PU cover on (obtained in a parts collection I was given). I played it last night and it forces me to play in a sweet spot. We’ll see if it lasts.
More importantly I soldered in a bypass for the cap that’s in series with the bridge PU. Holy Moly - that woke it up!
I didn’t realize what a beast it could be with that simple mod!
No sure if I posted the TRC before, but this one works, so the bass is now an El Degas Rocker.
Finally had the chance to open up my latest Chinabacker. Purchased from Aliexpress 2 months ago, but Chinese New Year had it delayed a bit. As with my first Chinabacker, this one is perfectly acceptable for a $289 bass (including shipping to the UK....no customs fees either).
Action is actually nice and low and played well right out of the box. Haven't plugged it in to an amp yet, but my last one was OK with stock electronics, but if I keep this, I'll certainly put new pick ups and harness in it. It does have a unique 3 piece neck!
Even came with a strap, picks and tools. No, it's not a real Ric, but these are pretty good for the price.
Nice. Worth 3 bills for sure. Us the herringbone real binding or a decal?
They are getting closer every day.
It's real inlay not sure of the grade of plastic it is!
The shape of the body is about it. Everything that mounts to the body just looks wrong.
Even the body shape looks wrong to me somehow. Maybe it's the binding. Or the pickguard. Or the hardware. Or maybe, it's the body shape.
