Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by lil'bass, May 28, 2005.

  1. Ive just got a musicman sterling 4 string. But without an instruction manual. I understand that the selector switch changes the way the pickup works (series and parrallel) but i dont understand what this means and how it effects the pickup....can anybody help? All i can tell is one is more powerful then the others and distorts a little!

It has to do with the way they are wired. Towards the neck is series, towards bridge is parallel (as far as the switch goes). Im sure someone can provide maybe some wiring diagrams to help you understand what it is the switch does. Nice choice on the bass though.
