Cole Clark Bass....Australian made beauty

These basses are terrific. Cole Clark are an Australian company known for making acoustic guitars. They teamed up with Neil Kennedy (an Australian bass builder) to make these gorgeous instruments. Im so pleased to own an instrument that was made just a few kilometres from my house here in Melbourne.

Some info..
Neck through Queensland maple neck. The neck is really quite flat. It feels very comfortable in the hands.

Aguilar 3 band pre - so many usable tones here.
The bass is very comfortable to play standing up. It sits very well, and its fairly light. Sitting down isnt the most comfy position, but its not terrible either.
You know when you pick up a bass and it just feels right straight away? Thats what this one is like for me. Comfortable, easy to play, solid and well built, I didnt love the shape of it right away, but its really grown on me. I love it now.

Considering its an Aussie made instrument, i was really happy with the price. It was Aud $2500. That converts to about Usd 1800. Considering the quality of electronics, hardware and woods, i think that is very reasonable. Check one out if you get the chance

I tried it with my Aussie made didgeridoo. Doesn 't work, must have bought a fake!

I noticed these basses haven't gathered much attention around here, so I thought I would bring this thread back to life to share my most recent acquisition. Same specs as the above but with a California redwood top and ebony fretboard. Loving the silky smooth neck on these and the Aguilar pickups. They are also great for the shoulder as this one weighs in at only 3.3kgs (7.28 pounds)! Would be interested to know if any others have found their way into the hands of Talkbass members.

I bought a five stringer not too long ago, and she has continually impressed me! Light on the shoulders, but massive tone.

I put on the EB Cobalt strings after a few weeks, and I love the tone that I am getting!
