Post your cheap, easy and fast meal ideas.

    Here's mine:

    Chili
    1 can of tomato paste
1 can of kidney beans (drained)
    1 packages of chili seasoning
all the random veggies you got (cubed)
    top it off with water

Boil for as long as you want, I usualy boil it for an hour or 2. Stir once in a while or else the bottom will burn. I usually freeze the left overs since I dont like eating chili for 3 nights in a row.

I also like this recipe for biscuits.

Delivery is expensive! At least you could do take-out to save a few dollars. :p Whoever said pizza was college food was also rich. :scowl:

  5. Not in college, but I used to live in dorms at my HS, ramen noodles and Mac and cheese FTW.

  6. i'm on the meal plan so i eat as much as i want!! hahaha!
i also keep soda, fruit snacks and popcorn in my room for late night snacks too.
as for my ramen recipe, me and my roommate got our ultmate laziness recipe. first break up the noodles in the pacakge...pour into a cup, along with the seasoning on top...pour water in and heat in a microwave for 4-5 minutes...there you have it. works for me anyways...

I make George Forman do the cooking around here a bit.

I gotta say, that heavyweight champ can cook a mean burger. My formula for burgers a la george forman are:

    Some raw hamburger
diced onion (or 1/2 a packet of lipton onion soup, whatever you have on hand I guess)
    a dash of seasoned salt
    some A-1 steak sauce

mix all the above together, form whatever shapes you feel like(circle, square, J-bass pickups shape, whatever), and give it to George and he'll cook it for a little bit. and when he's done, you throw it on some bread or a bun w/ whatever condiments and veggies you like on it, voila! bon appitie.

you can also marinate some sliced onions in italian dressing, and have george grill it up for ya, and throw that on your burger or steak or whatever you feel like. they're mighty tasty.

George Forman, a college student's best friend. :D

I learned there's a different between good quality ramen and really cheap ramen. Cheap ramen is only 4 for $1 but it gets squisy really fast and doesnt hold it's shape well if cooked too long. Good ramen is 2 for $1, double the price. It's worth it because it holds it's shape and tastes like noodles after it's cooked not like wet bread.

I've also found the store brand mac and cheese to tastes a lot better then Kraft Dinner. Kraft dinner doesnt even look like macaroni anymore, it's more like straight tube noodles.

  10. There are different types of ramen? I'm only used to 2, Top Ramen and Maruchen, and they're identical, and they're 5 or 6 for a dollar. I'll have to look for the better stuff. What's it called?

Btw, where is YYC? (googling doesn't help)

There you go! The top 2 are good quality ramen noodles. Mr.Noodle, isnt. Most asian markets would have the good quality stuff but tehy can be expensive, I've seen them for $0.75 each. Now, that's just spoling yourself. ;)

YYC is the airport code for Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I dont live there anymore. I'm just too lazy to change it.

But if you order a few days worth of food and save it then the delivery charge spreads out and ends up being reasonable.

    Pasta Carbonara:
Boil up some pasta and while it's cooking dice some ham and fry it up in a small frying pan with some crushed garlic.(2or 3 cloves)

Drain the cooked pasta, put it back in the pot with the heat still on, add the ham mixture, crack in a few eggs, add approx 1/2 cup of milk, cheese of your liking (parmesan, romano or even edam) to taste and season with salt and pepper and fresh herbs like basil, parsley, oregano, whatever.

I sometimes substitute the ham for smoked trout.
    Yum! :hyper:

No. It does not exist. Never question the Ramen again. MSG is what makes it so delicious to crazy white people without cash. MSG is an ancient chinese secret...to confound the white man...blah blah blah
