  1. just wondering if there are any companies that make colored strings? i read in another thread about an ibanez having some sort of coloring to their BTB bass strings, and thought about how cool red strings would look:rolleyes:

DR Extra lifes are colored. They make red ones, I believe they are called red devils.

    Hope this helps.

They debuted yellow, pink, green, and others at the winter NAMM. They should be shipping a total of 12 colors later this year. The guy who makes the coatings is also working on individual windings with different colors--he gave me a sample that alternates red and silver!

I have...I like the tone I get. I have them on a bass I converted to fretless, and I get a good amount of "mwah", especially when using the J pickup.

I am concerned that if I switch to these, that I will lose mwah as I usually use nickle round wounds on my ebony fingerboard.

I already have a stealth Yamaha RBX775, so black beauties are out. Probably go with the blues or the greens.
