I know it’s not Sea Foam, but I just picked this up a couple weeks ago, my first tort guard. Everybody comments on it. I like it. Tort for sure for you too
I know you're possibly talking Fender but this demonstrates well enough.. Black Or white and sorry tort lovers, but the old adage is red and green should never be seen (together)!!
Thanks. Not Fender. Putting together a bass from old parts. Ibanez Blazer body and Squier jazz neck. Just considering spraying it sea foam as I like that colour
Ok - yeah it's a great colour - my EBMM is called Cruz teal but it almost matched a modern seafoam green Telecaster I've seen alongside it. Notice the black and white pg make the colour look slightly different.
I’m pretty sure that the Blazer shipped with a 21 fret neck. Dry fit and measure up before you paint, because I suspect that you will have to move your bridge. Nice project.
Totally correct there. Although I think 21 feet is a bit long for a neck I've got it all measured up, will have to move the bridge back about 5 mm. Either that or shim the neck forward.
Check your quote. Autocorrect screwed me, but I got my stealth edit done in time Also, are you lucky enough to have the original pickups? non-ninja edit: painting the headstock to match, I hope?
Sadly don't have original pickup, it came with a loaded pickguard which I think is original but not great condition. Another option is to put black carbon fibre lookalike vinyl on the pickguard. Pretty sure the pickup is off a Squier. Pots and cap look original as they are good quality. Going to use a Wilkinson bridge I have lying about. Headstock may well get sprayed too
So far I'm leaning towards either 3 ply bwb or white pearloid. I have black, plain white and a brown tort from other projects. None would fit but good for colour comparisons against the green.
