Columbia basses, anyone heard of them.

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Doryan, Sep 10, 2002.

  1. I'm just wondering if anybody heard of them ?

I owned one years ago, but I never heard of some others existed.

Made in Italy was printed on it.
It had a body almost like a Jazz bass but the cutaways pointed more like cones away from each other about 40°. Not like jazz where they point almost parallel to the same direction. (If you now what I mean).

The body was very light, and I mean very light.

It had one humbucker at the neck. And a scratch-plate.

The head was Fender like. With tuners where the wormwheel and radarwheel (is this the mechanical term ?) was not casted but visual.

It was a short scale, about 32".

I had the Colubia name on it like a tag. Like on old american cars it was written.

Anyone has some information about these basses ?
