I just switched to bass after years of playing guitar. I've selected a bass, but need help selecting an appropriate gigging amp. I've narrowed the choice down to a Fender 250/115, a Fender 250/210 or an Ashdown 410 MAG (300 W). I can get a Fender from a local dealer but will have to mail order the Ashdown. I mainly play Police, Beatles, Stones, but also Rush, a little Alice Cooper and some Southern Rock. Thanks in advance for the advice.

you're taking a risk buying something you haven't heard. if you like the 250/210 I'd recommed going for that. it also has a speaker out so you can at a 115 or 410 cab later if you need more volume.
  3. Ashdown all the way. You might look into Eden as well.

Of the ones you mentioned, I'd go with the Fender 250/210. But better, go with the Fender Bassman 400 Pro.
  5. You can't add a second cab to a fender 250 series.
