Aren't there any liquor stores with poor security in your area? Own a ski mask? Problem Solved!
I think the Ampegs do a better job of making the bass loud and clear without changing the sound of the instrument...tilt back feature is handy in small jams as you can't point it to your ear. My ampeg 108 is plenty for living room jams...110 even better.
Look at an old Peavey TKO (or any old Peavy) for 100.00 to 200.00 bucks. Heavy but you can play with a drummer if need be.
I’ve had one for years with no issues. If you don’t mind the weight the price great.
The new Ampeg Rocket Bass combos.
why that over the BA110?
Mackie Thump12A 12 in. Powered Loudspeaker
I bought 1st gen G C Acoustic
B-200. Plenty of bang for the $
Broad tonal palette:6-semi parametric; no “tone knobs” as with other heads /combos .
Probably well within your $ range
Used Line 6 Studio 10.
112 combo. 110 is too small.
Was looking at this and a mini Ibanez for my 11 year old for her Bday this month- her mom is less than thrilled with the idea.
Just wondering. Have you played any one of these amps listed by original poster? They all put out lots of volume in my experience.
An Ampeg BA 110v2 came home with me the other day. Not sure how it'd fare against a hard-hitting drummer, but for people jamming at reasonable volumes I think it'll hold its own nicely. Sure sounds great, too.
Yeah. I have the Ampeg, I've played the rumble. No drums, but playing with others, 112.
The orange I listed is a 12" but I fail to see hoe a 10" is too small for my purposes. in what world is a 12" the bare minimum for a practice amp and light jamming?
Get the ten then, you'll see.
Buy the most power with the biggest driver you can afford, you can always turn it down. Buying used will get you twice as much amp.
Although discontinued, the Line 6 Lowdown 110 is a small combo that is also gig worthy. It can be had for a lot less than $300.
No disrespect intended... I've found the ampeg 108 to be plenty for a living room jam with 3 other players no drums.
Used Yorkville/Traynor XM50; You won't be disappointed.
what do you use to split the signal?
