I'm currently using a Fender KXR100 combo amp. This amp has two RCA outputs labeled "Record Out". My question is, can I use this output to go directly into a mixer if a buy a RCA to XLR converter cable? I usually mic my combo when playing live, but would be interested in going direct out if possible.

Not familiar with your amp, but it's odd that there'd be two RCA outs -- anything stereo about the rig?

I'd suggest plugging one of them, then the other, into a home stereo or anything you've got, and playing (at VERY LOW VOLUME) your bass, to see if they really are line outs...

They probably are, in which case you could use them to go direct to board in a live situation, or for recording purposes.

    Anyone else?

Thanks for the reply. It's actually a 3-channel keyboard amp, and although I don't know anything about keyboards, I'm assuming that some are stereo which would explain the stereo output??? I'm gonna try what you suggested, I just need to get the cable first.
