Combo Amp Under $600

  1. I'm happy with my main rig, but I'm looking for a more portable solution for rehearsals and possibly for smaller gigs.

    I think I need about 200 Watts into a 2X10 or maybe a 1X12.

I play mostly passive fender basses, classic rock and blues, no pic no slap. I don't play a 5 string, so it doesn't have to handle the low B, but we sometimes tune down a half step or do drop D tuning.

    And, I can't go more than $600.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks Guys.

  2. Peavey TNT or that Pignose combo if you need a tubey sound.

Ampeg B100R kicks butt for only 100 watts. It is the perfect combo for that old school tone. I sounds best with a passive Fender and flatwounds.
