combo as an extension

  1. Hey guys. I got a Peavey TNT 130 combo with a 15" woofer inside, and I am planning on getting a 4x10 cab and a pretty powerful head. I was wondering if i could use my TNT as an extension speaker instead of buying another 1x15 cab. I really like the sound of that TNT and was wondering if I could do it. As for inputs it has a high and low gain input and a power amp input. Let me know what you guys think.

One option is to take the line out (aka effects send or preamp out) from the head you're going to buy and plug it into the line in (effects return or power amp in) of your combo. Or you could take the line out from your TNT and plug it into the line in of the head. By doing it this way the 15 is still powered by the amp in the combo, and the 4x10 will be powered by the new head.
