Come 2 Life at Gator's Bar & Grill, Pineville, LA

  1. I'll get this out of the way first- yeah, band name has a number subbing for a word. In my defense, the name predates my membership ;)

Overall, good show, crowd was digging us. Owner was digging us, too. Free meal for the band members, and the food was pretty good!

Rhythm guitarist went home to get a couple of guitars after set 2, making set 3 start late. Lead guitarist's fiance, as per usual, got sloppy drunk. Peeing her pants at the bar was a first :rollno:

On to happier things- Bassist from another local band was there, and exhibited great admiration for my import Cirrus  I can dig it- I've had this bass since 2012, and have no plans to replace it.

So yeah, my first Talkbass gig report, such as it is :D

Pretty cool, sounds like a good night, as they go. Always good when another bass player compliments your equipment, playing or tone.

I hear you on the band name, but if they have made a following under the name, it can be lived with - it could always be changed later.

Hope things keep going well for you playing up there in the Mason-Dixon line of LA (I live in the south...BR). Enjoy!

  3. We have a pretty decent, and enthusiastic, local following, so that's pretty cool. We'll be in Morgan City in July, that'll be our first foray south.

That should be fun, don’t think i’ve been there. Hopefully you’ll have some fans travel down there with you, too, and pack the house. Hope it goes well.

Hopefully you can build a touring circuit and move around all over.

  5. Well, peeing fiance and good food. Seems like a mixed evening. I guess as long as the fiance is someone else's issue than it's all good.

    Thanks for the gig review!

Haha, yeah, that part was classic.

Apparently the guitarist needs to remember to bring a change of guitars, and the fiancée needs to think about bringing a change of panties.

And maybe some extra shoes if she’s wearing a skirt! Lol.

Morgan City used to be a big oil industry town. Might affect your set list.

  8. If you're getting the kinds of gigs you want, don't worry about the name.

Nice. I've never played or been there before. Live about an hour away from Pineville. I may go check it out one day.

Many cities/towns near the gulf are oil cities/towns, but there are usually some cool people everywhere. Those guys are usually gone 2 out of every 4 weeks, but they usually have a lot of cash and time when they’re back. Their girlfriends are there 4 out of every 4 weeks...

May have to adjust the set, but the people may also like the diversity instead of the same ol’ same ol’.

If your set list is good, push it.

  12. Hi,

I guess you can't have much more fun than that! ;) Perhaps it's a good thing there are no pictures of certain situations. :p Thanks for sharing.

    Thank you for your indulgence,
