Is it true that 'Come together' by the Beatle got banned, as it was about revolution?
this is what my mate told and i am not sure whether to beleive him.....although he does spout bollocks
  2. I understand that it was banned in the UK because of the reference to Coka Cola. The government felt it was promoting a specific product, and that's why it was banned.

Plenty of Beatles songs were banned by the BBC at some point - in South Africa, all records that were Beatle related in any miniscule way were banned for many years. Some of them were banned for ridiculous reasons - I Am The Walrus was banned because of the use of the word "knickers", which was thought by the BBC to be a revolutionary codeword. (Ironically, the same song was used in an ad for the BBC about a year ago. ) As for Come Together, I'm sure that it was banned, although I don't know what for exactly. Given the Beeb's zealous anti-advertising stance, I wouldn't be suprised if Lisa is right.
