At least one schematic I've looked at (not all cabs seem to offer them, at least on various web sites) indicates that the Speakon connectors, banana plug, and 1/4" phone jacks are all essentially wired together. This certainly makes sense, I'm just wondering if it is common. I have one speaker cabinet with Speakons and 1/4" and one with 1/4" and a banana plug. I wanted to run them parallel. I'm guessing it is okay to run Speakon from the amp to the first cab and then 1/4" from the first cab to the second cab. I'll admit to being a bit chicken about just plugging it all in and throwing the switch, though. Comments? Thanks...Millard
Should be okay, and pretty common I think. It's easier to jump all the i/o jacks at the panel instead of running separate wires to all the speaker terminals. You can check this with a mulit-meter. The only thing it will really do that you have to be careful about is it will change the impedance by connecting another cabinet.
