So since my new VL chorus, which rocks, tends to boost my volume a little bit, would the effect and tone be ruined if i put my keeley compressor AFTER it in the chain, to tame that volume boost?

I've found that pedals which boost your level a bit aren't too much of a problem because you can just pluck a little more lightly when you switch them on, and the small initial volume boost can nicely accentuate the effect. It's volume drops that I have a problem with.

Compressing after the chorus shouldn't affect things detrimentally but it may sound slightly different, and possibly less obviously chorused.

    Suck it and see!

oh, sorry, my setup currently is just bass -> keeley comp -> vl chorus -> amp.

last night I had my girlfriend help me with an objective view on how much volume boost I do get and we agreed it probably isnt enough to worry about.
