  1. i know, i know...

    the price delta is HUGE...

i'm enjoying my zon lightwave now more than ever. the range of tones with the upgrade is astounding!!!

i like the simplicty of the K5. i am considering selling it though.

then i played it again. nice! haven't played it for a while. still in tune. neck still flatter than heck.

one thing i noticed about the K5 is the string tension.

compared to the zon, the strings have a tighter feel.

    35" scale perhaps?

its a great bass, that k5!!! highly recommended. though limited in tonal range. one of the nicest necks and B's around!!!

plus the unlined phenolic neck and no pickguard looks pretty cool.

    just sharing some thoughts.

still can't get rid of this danged fender jazz that i hotrodded. poorest outlay of cash EVER! i even tried to donate it to a couple of local high schools.

their response: "oh, its made in mexico?"

in closing, the Zon Lightwave fretless 5 with all the new goodies, comes closest to my ideal of a swiss army knife bass!

    happy happy.

  2. oops, just noticed the other swiss army knife thread...didn't mean to snag the metaphor.

    danged unconscious.

  3. Donate it to VH1's Save the Music program. A bunch of spoiled OC brats need basses a lot less than, say, kids in Spanish Harlem.
  4. excellent suggestion mr. M.

that, or i may boat anchor it to the K5 ebay auction.

"Sure, you can buy the K5, but you have to take a fender jazz to go with it!"

    that should deter most bidders!
