  14. Besides all the manufacturers listed above, it's worth noting that your local small-batch luthier can probably build you a great Jazz-style bass. Greg Curbow (two hours away and not exactly small-time) built me a killer J.

    Ive never tried one but I would be willing to bet that the G&L JB-1 is a very nice jazz bass. Also, lets not forget Fender! :D

    Moon, Atelier Z, Jiraud. Nobody has ever talked about Jiraud basses but the samples on their website sound amazing. Pensa, Bacchus, Status, Crews Guitar Maniac. That covers ever other company I know that makes J types. Here's a Jiraud I though looked nice.
