My favorite is envelope filter. Most on my list are specifically envelope filter pedals; others have various functions but include an envelope filter in them. Here's my complete list of the ones I've owned (the ones I still have are at the top in bold letters and underlined):

EHX Riddle; Multivox Big Jam Spit Wah; Jacques Trinity Wah; DOD FX25B; Mars Yesman+; Mowery Electronics Dynatron; Korg AX3G “Filtron” (custom); Musitronics Mu-Tron III; Univox Effectmatic (Licensed ‘70s Mu-Tron III clone); Seamoon Funk Machine; Korg Synthepedal; Moog Moogerfooger MF-101; EMMA DiscumBOBulator; Ibanez and Maxon AF9; 3Leaf Audio Groove Regulator and GR2; EHX Enigma, Micro Q-Tron, Mini Q-Tron, vintage Q-Tron+, and Tube Zipper; Subdecay Prometheus and Proteus; Source Audio Bass Envelope Filter; Chunk Systems Agent 00Funk (Mark I and II); Line 6 OTTO Filter; Tweaktronix (Subdecay) Dynamic Filter; Menatone Mail Bomb (newer 4-knob version); Guyatone WR2, WR3, WRm5, Crossover Box, and Ultron; Boss FT-2 and SYB-3; EBS BassIQ; WMD FatMan and Super FatMan; Hartman Envelope Filter; Ashdown Bass Envelope Filter; Mars Mini Yesman; Peavey Spectrum Analog Filter (rack); Roadrunner Flexitone Distortion Auto Wah; Eowave Filter Bug; Electrix Filter Queen (half-rack); Vestax DWG-X1 (half-rack); Digitech Vocal 300 “WEFUNK” (custom); Ibanez SB7 and AW7; Behringer DW400, VB1 and UW300; Rocktron Heart Attack; Digitech Synth Wah; Onerr Touch Wah; Memphis Attack Trigger; DOD FX25; Modtone Funk Filter; Wilson Envelope Phollower; Solid Gold FX Funkbox; Mojohand 443 Analogue Filter; VFE Mini Mu and Mini Mu Jr.; Eleca Automatic Tune; Henretta Engineering Big Zapper; Meatsphere (Lovetone Meatball clone without FX Loop and Pedal 1 and 2 inputs); full-featured Lovetone Meatball clone

So whether your favorite is envelope filter, phaser, fuzz, octaver, overdrive...whatever it is, let's see your complete list of the ones you've owned! Don't worry if you've forgotten a few; just write the ones you remember buying (in fact, I just remembered a few as I was typing this!).

Don't be ashamed...you're among friends...we're not here to judge!

  4. Dirty pedals are my favorite. Mostly fuzz and distortions. I still own Gnomeratron VTF, IdiotBox Blasteriod, IdiotBox Lazer Fuzz, IdiotBox Blower Box, Copilot Orbit. I have owned one of the old Sansamps that had a switch for the different amp types, I can't remember the name but it had different positions like "tweed", "California", and "British". Boss DS-1, Rocktech Distortion, Tech 21 XXL Bass, Zoom UF-01, MXR Blue Box, and a Midfi Clari(not)?. I've tried a bunch more but those are the ones that I have owned.

    Take your time!

I started my list a long time ago, and I add to it every time I buy an envelope filter, whether I choose to keep it or not..

  17. I love it on bass. It adds subharmonic content in some settings. If you have the smash knob before noon it has a ton of lows. I don't think it loses lows it's just very bassy before noon. After about one or two o'clock it gets this weird ringmodish charcter and gets sorta gated. I love using it for synth sounds but I wouldn't call it overly synthy unless you want it to be. It's the only pedal I can run before my OC-2 that the OC-2 still tracks with no problems. The smash knob doesn't seem to do as much after a buffer and it needs isolated power but I love it and that stuff doesn't bother me. There's a few clips of it on bass in one or two of Juan's Fuzz Wars and I used it in my feedback friday clip on soundcloud if you wan to hear it. It's the first dirty sound on the FBF clip.

    Fuzz Wars about 3:35ish:

Thanks Gambino. I took a listen. Just talking about sound here....wasn't really my cup of tea. I think I like the thicker Static Fuzz/BB type of distortions rather than the buzziness of the Blasteroid.

Alderete's videos always leave me wanting more because his playing is so tame and subdued. I wish he had examples of digging in more than the harmonics and light touch he usually has.

I appreciate the time you took to answer my question.

  19. No problem. I don't think it's for everyone same with the Lazer both have very unique sounds. Here's a small clip of the way I usually have it set, Blast a little more than unity and Smash around 9 or 10 o'clock. Not as buzzy as the Juan vid. The first 30ish seconds is may clean sound and the Blasteriod then aroud 34ish I kick the Lazer Fuzz on top of the Blasteroid and then it starts to get weird:
