Just bought a behringer mdx 2200 to try and even out some bad dynamics in my bass rig such as too many highs and muddy lows....i was just wondering what would be the appropriate settings on this unit for the expander, compressor and limiter. I dont know much about effects for bass and I know this type of unit can actually sound bad if not set correctly. I run a G-K 400RBIII through an old peavey 4-10 cab if this helps. any input would be greatly appreciated.
After many hours of research and experiementation, these are the settings that I use with my Behringer MDX 2200. Daisy Chain both halves of the Stereo Compressor by patching channel one output into channel two input. Bass>Preamp>Channel 1 Input>Channel 1 Output>Channel 2 Input>Channel 2 Output>Amp Channel 1: Expander Gate: set both threshold and ratio to 9:00 Expander Release: SLOW Interactive: ON (Soft Knee) SC Filter: ON Auto: OFF I/O Meters set to: OUTPUT Threshold 12:00 Ratio: 12:00 Attack: 12:00 Release: 12:00 Output: 1:30 Peak Limiter 2:00 ------------------------------------------------- Channel 2: Expander Gate: set both threshold and ratio to 9:00 Expander Release: SLOW Interactive: OFF (Hard Knee) SC Filter: ON Auto: OFF I/O Meters set to: OUTPUT Threshold: 2:00 Ratio: 2:00 Attack: 8:00 Release: 10:00 Output: 1:30 Peak Limiter: 2:00
