Compression ratio's

  1. I'm not use to having a compressor on board.How do I use it for an ocasional pop or slap note. I am a soft touch player.What do you use 3to1 or 5to1 for? Help please.

    The answer is … it depends. I use between 1.6 and 2 to 1 but let it kick in only at higher DBs. I think a lot depends on your rig what kind of dials does that thing have? 100 watts is relitively small, I'd say if you find the speaker farting out, you can bring up the compression level a bit. Too much compression can really suck. I'd say if you can hear it effecting the music back off a bit. So what about those dials?
