can i take the MXR Supercomp compressor for bass or is it
    only for guitar?
    Which compressor/limiter do you prefer:

    - MXR Supercomp
    - BOSS LMB-3
    - DigiTech Bass Squezze

The Digitech affects your EQ, i don't know if that is positive or negative for you.
  4. I'd stay away from the boxes above, not dissing them, but IMO there are better choices.

The new BBE Sonic Stomp Comp and Aphex Punch Factory would be better both are optical compressors (not much coloration of the sound). I plan to get a Sonic Stomp ($99),
athe Aphex goes for about $139. The Aphex has a DI out, which is good, I have Aphex Acoustic Exciter and use it as my main DI to the board live.

I had a DigiTech bass squeze, it was ok, but it took away some clairity from my bass tone. Good slap tone, but didn't work for me for normal finger style use.

Hamer USA Cruise x2, Bass Balls, Fulltone BassDrive II and Aphex Acoustic Exciter. Yorkville xs800h amp - Aguilar 4x12.

I have a Super Comp. It works fine. I don't worry too much about tone coloration. Otherwise I won't use effects at all.
