Im a noob in effects, Im starting to get my pedalboard, when i connect more than one pedal my ampeg hums, a friénd told me that i needed a noise suppresor and i bought one. In the other hand I like the sound of flea in around the world in the part that comes after the overdrive, and a friénd suggest me to buy a compressor, so that way o could sound negar that, but, I've always tought that a compressor is a effect that simply makes you sound the notes with moré definition, and a noise suppresor is, well, exactly that, only kills the noises that the bass and a lot of pedals connected make. Another friénd told me that if i get a compressor i wont need a noise suppresor so that confused me a Little of what i tought was a difference in the se two things and now i think i dont know anything

    Muchas gracias por su ayuda!!!

Scrap the pedals...fix the hum first! Sounds as if you have a ground conflict amongst the existing components. Stay tuned to this thread...my distinguished TB brethren will come up with some suggestions in short order.

Ammmm well the hum i tought it was a thing of my house conection, and i fixed it, it worked but it still sounded. That bass is a Fender p lyte, and when i touched the treble knob the hum changed, and decresead, i took the bass to service in the morning, anyway i pluged another bass and the hum dissapeared. Note, english is not my first language hum and noise are different things right??

In my book, they are. When I think "hum", I always lean towards ground loops & other compromises. When I think "noise" (i.e hiss), I look for 60 cycle, RF interference, etc. From your description, it appears as if the bass itself may be the culprit.

Your English is fine...but I do read your posts twice and leave my bifocals on. Where the hell are you and what do the women look like?

This is a problem with the grounding on the bass. Fix that, and you shouldn't need a noise suppressor.
