    Hi,

I get the "Website not Responding" window everytime I click on "Edit Profile" does anyone know why this is happening. Every thing else on the forum works fine. I know there could be a lot of reasons, I just need some places to start. I notified Paul and he e-mailed me back that he has no idea why. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Please :help:

What OS? Windows? What Browser? Any other pages do the same thing? Whens the last time you cleaned out the machine good? Any other links on this site do that?

Thanks for the response! I am on AOL (dial-up) and to answer your questions:

    1) Windows 98 SE.
    2) Internet Explorer.
    3) No other links do this.
    4) I use Scan-Disk regularly and De-Frag.

May want to start by clearing the browser cache. Click tools, Internet Options, delete files, (check the box to delete all offline content), click clear History. If that doesn't work clear out your cookies as well, following the same procedure. If still no go, do a clean up up of the whole C: drive by highlight C: in explorer, going to properties, and then doing a disk clean up (might be under a tools tab or on the first page)

That's the easy stuff. Give it a shot.

  5. Have you tried:

    Restarting

Clearing IE Cache and Cookies (Tools --> Internet Options --> Delete Cookies/Files)

Trying a different browser (Opera, Firefox, Slimbrowser, Maxthon, etc.)

Uninstalling IE Plugins, these can cause things to act strangely sometimes

I'll post more if these don't work, or if I think of anything.

Wow... Just wow. I haven't seen those words in a while. That used to be my favorite OS even after Windows 2k came out. It took some tweaking to take advantage of a lot of memory, but when I realized 2k was the shiznit, I moved to that.

Make sure you clear your cache. Deleting your history and cookies wouldn't hurt either. Just clean everything in IE. That will probably solve your problem if you've got a stable connection, but unable to hit the area you want. If that fails, try re-setting everything in IE to defaults, and try again.

Thank you all, I will try all your suggestions asap but right now (not a joke) I'm on my way out the door to the emergency room, I just started to get flashing lights in my left eye.

    Hi,

It's Saturday afternoon here and after spending 2 and a half hours in the ER last night I found out that I have something called Vitreous Detachment of the Retina and although not life threatening will possibly require surgery to make sure I can still see out of my left eye. I'm seeing a specialist on Monday and I'm sure everything will be OK, so much for the "Golden Years" though, lol.

    Cheers,

    George

    Jim,

Thank you kindly! I found out the problem I was having with the "Edit Profile" link, it turned out to be an ISP problem.

    Cheers,

    George
