Because Photobucket has chosen to in effect "take down" everyone's photos (unless you pay them), we have extended post edit time in the Luthier's Corner to UNLIMITED.  If you used photobucket and happen to still have your images of builds, you can go back and fix as many of your posts as far back as you wish.

here's a lil image of a bass i want to build

    http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/BYOBass/DSC00016.jpg

i could definitely use some critiquing. any suggestions, pros/cons, etc?

the neck is probably out of proprtion. as are the pickups, etc. its just a sketch though. i'll b sure to do a full size template, as well as a drawing on autodesk inventor.

    thanks!

    pretty sweet.

oh, and draw on graph paper, make each sqare 2 inches.

thanks. yea, thats the next step. graph paper with proportions.

then, a instead of full size, i can use autocadd and the plotter at school to print out a full size full spec template to make a pine template from.

  4. yeah... whenever i use graph paper now they all look wrong...

I hope you have a better time than I am... lol

  5. Maybe that could help some of you on your graph paper things....it's actually pretty nice and also, easier then buying a pack of paper!

  6. The neck pocket looks to be dangerously small, is there enough wood there to fix it all? Is it a bolt on?

    Nice shape tho :)

don't worry much about the neck pocket. i basically just drew two lines and drew a body around it. the next template/scale drawings will be a lot better. its more of a critique of the shape i'm looking for. i'm glad you like it :)

Kind of a Vigier vibe to it. Pretty cool!
