confused! how many should i use!

    ok ive been playing for a year now and i use two fingers. i hear people talking about using 3 4 and 5 fingers. Im lost how many should i use. If I use more will it make me better and what do they mean play with your thumb? like slapping or something?
    sorry for the rant, im new and a little confused in this area.:confused: :mad: :eek: :(

    First off, the answer to the question of how many fingers you should play with probably won't get a large amount of responses in the Amps forum. The Technique or Miscellaneous forums will give you the answer you seek.

    Secondly, how many fingers you play with is up to you. Playing with more has benefits, such as being able to play for a long period of time without as much fatigue in your hand as you would if you just used two fingers. You can use your thumb like your other fingers, I think I've seen Sting do this.
