  1. Hello TBers.

I have a problem. I EQ my amp until it sounds really good, and I like the sound. This I do, when I sit in front of my amp. As soon as I get up and move 2 metres from the speakers, the sound is CRAP.

What to do? It sounds really good close to the speakers.

because the sound waves have not fully formed when you are up close so most of the bottom end is missing thats why if you set up a good sound for onstage its sound too bassy 30 feet away as the highs have been absobed or disapate quickly, leaving the lows which have more power. thats why you hear the bass or Kick drum when aproaching a venue long before you hear the guitars. I used to have a really long lead for sound checks so I could stand 40 feet away from the stage and hear my sound . You will be amazed how much little bottom end you need to sound deep from the audience . whilst it will sound ****ty on stage
