Gawd!! I cant wait to get this thing!!!

  2. That's a whole lotta neck, but I love the macassar ebony (is that right?) with the spalted maple. That's going to be one stunning bass. Congratulations, and have fun watching it take shape!

dude, someone scribbled all over your wood!

Bring it to the Bass Summit, I've got some industrial cleaners that'll wipe that right off.

    that's going to be nice!!

Em...I actually don't like it. I think it's going to be an awsome bass, but I'm just not into 7 or more string basses.

    oh man.....OH MAN!

that ebony is sweet! Every conklin I see makes me want one.....and after the massive amounts of sound clips I expect from ya after it gets done, I bet I'll want one even more!

I look at that, then I look at my four string across the room...

*looks back and forth between the two*

    I feel very insecure...
That is going to be awsome when it's done. I hope there will be a full review

Looks good, but like Mark said, we need to do something about that scribbling! Bring it on down here to the Summit, and we'll see what we can do. And I think I could get a whole bass made out of that fingerboard!! Does spalted maple weigh less than quilt/flame/whatever maple? I do hope so, for your back's sake!

Cherry's just a little more heavier than swamp ash. Medium light in weight @ about 3.1 lbs / bd. ft. I'm expecting it to weigh less than my purpleheart 7. It has a zebrano back... Man now THAT thig is heavy!! But, one of the saving graces is that the Conks are perfectly balanced so that helps immensely!!

    that is simply outstanding-
the splat may be a slight bit lighter than quilt because it might be less dense.. but by about 1/1000 of an ounce!
