{} Hey low-end friends! I'm thinning the herd a bit and am probably going to let my custom Conklin 8-string go off to a new home. This is one of Bill's "melted top" instruments made back in 2000 and we basically threw every option at it. The body is claro walnut; the top is zebrawood, pommelled bubinga with wenge stringers; the fingerboard is also bubinga with the wenge stringers. The bass has always been strung/tuned F#, B, E, A, D, G, C, F. It's 34" scale, but with 28 frets and double truss rods. Between the truss rods and Bill's awesome neck-through laminant, the neck just doesn't move. It runs a pair of active Bartolini PUs, plus the entire bridge is custom built by ABM and is wired with individual piezos in each saddle. The bass can be run all PU, all piezo or both (with a blend knob). There's tons to say about this instrument and those who've seen/played it are usually left in love with how easily playable it is. Obviously, this is a unique bass and not everyone's cup of tea, but for those who love extended range instruments this thing is just incredible. To spec out a comparable bass from Bill right now, you're looking at around twice this price. Please reach out to me with any questions! And since I can't seem to figure out how to edit the price, go ahead and make me an offer {} {} {} {} {} {}
