hey conklin lovers.. and Everyone else... i've seen many "Post your Fender" and "Post your MM" threads lately...so heres one dedicated to..IMHO..one of the best basses ever made... show your Groove Tools!! Heres mine
Well, it just happens that I got a new one today! and here's a clip... http://www.cutlasscom.biz/downloads/gt5.mp3
Here's my new one, which happened to come from Mr Groove Tools (a.k.a lbanks). What a bass, and what a guy!
There's lots more-but being perfectly honest, most Groove Tools look very much the same. All are either in natural or wine, and all (other than the GT-BD7) have the exact same wood combos.
Former owner here: Although I still have one of the Groove Tools guitars. Here's Bill (in the background), guitarist for my band playing it.
I've seen way different maple padrons on several GT basses, the one I owned had a pretty simple figured maple top,but I've seen some with good looking quilt and flame padrons out there, not to mention some heavily modded ones! Like realthing's GT-8 btw- here's my ex, had almost forgot I had these pics here
The only really modded ones I've seen (aside from the addition of a mid control knob) have been therealthing's GT-7 and Jared Morante's old GT-BD7. The maple tops do vary, but not that much-to me it's like "choose between 50 kinds of vanilla!" This is my old GT-BD7, btw.
wow, I really like those BD7's. Whats the sales price on one of those bad boys, and besides elctronis what do the BD's have over standard gt?
