If the head is farther away from the wall than your cord can reach, you'll need an extension cord. Preferably one that is long enough to reach the wall.

On a less sarcastic note, I always at least use a surge protector between the wall and the head. I have a rack mounted power conditioner which works great, and I usually run a surge protector from the wall to that as well.
  3. I always use a powerbar that has a surge protector built in.

My head is not connected to the wall, it's connected to my body via my neck. :p :D :bag:

    I use a heavy gauge extension cord. It's a 10' 12awg.

I always use a surge protector! Always! And I never plug into non-grounded outlets! Some amps will screw up if they are not grounded!
