Looking at their single coil set in stock wind, a -5% and even a -2% winding.
Is the stock bright enough with that toothy treble I desire?
What about the under wound option?
I hear these are pretty zippy in stock winding.
Bass in question is an AM Pro Jazz (Burnt Ash with maple FB)

    get ‘em stock wind!

plenty clear and balanced, not “hot” at all.

i also strongly recommend the radiused magnet stagger to get you your middle strings back.

I figured stock is good enough.
Is getting the radius magnets due to the lacking nature of the Fender AMPRO J bass specific or any Jbass???

    Any j bass!

With flat pickups you have to drop them really far from the strings or the E and G end up being too hot. A radius stagger pickup is more balanced across the strings.
