Reading a few articles on stradivari and wondered if anyone had thoughts on how these theories would effect a solid instrument (sorry if the title is misleading). They are about the wood he used and the possible conditions they might of been in. Thoughts?

Also some talk about the golden ratio in the shape of the violins...

    Thanks,

P.S. I know solid bodies aren't supposed to resonate but they do, so this is relevant!

Ok,just a quickie. Yes solidbodies resonate...VERY LITTLE. Effect of resonance from solid piece of wood on wax potted and epoxy encased transducers? Not audible to the human ear. Try the search function, this subject has been gone through ad nauseam. As for Toni Strad and theory of material and construction? Nobody has been able to duplicate it to this day, so he had something that is still not fully beyond conjecture to this day.
