Contemplating a Roscoe Century series V

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by konabass, Apr 28, 2005.

  1. It's time to move on up and I'm thinking strongly about ordering one of Keith Roscoe's new Century carved top fives. Since I'm out here in the middle of the pond, slim is the chance of sampling one, so I thought I'd ask around to see what TBers think about his new line. I'm not into buy/sell/trading instruments, so I'm planning to keep this one. Just want feedback from other Roscoe users or, actually, Century carved top users -- is the sound consistent with his past models? Has anyone seen anything different enough to make this model stand out, either positively or negatively?

If I had the money I'd order a six string century in a heartbeat. I like the shape even better than the SKB that I have now and I like that the top horn is longer. Keith has also said that his line has a more "woody" sound which appeals to me a great deal. Throw a Demeter pre in that thing and you'll never want to get rid of it.
