Are there any players out there that have experimented with this idea? Is it a workable concept? How about strings and tuning, any recomendations. Could you use this process to create a Tenor Bass, :meh: or should I seek treatment???

aslong as the scale length is around 27or 28 inches and up. D'addario, fender and Ernie Ball all amke strings for an instrument like this, known as the Bass VI.

Ofcourse, you would have to tune it EADGBE or a tuning relatively close to that. You most likely wouldnt be able to get a low B on one of those.

  3. Music Man Silhouette bass/guitar is much like this I believe.
