Converting a 1X15 to a 2X10

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Thunderscreech, Sep 15, 2008.

  1. What would I need to do to convert a BA115 from a single 15-inch speaker to 2 10-inch speakers?

  2. You would need to sell the BA115 and buy a BA210:smug:. On a more serious note you would need to remove the front baffle board and replace it with one that has the right holes cut for the 2 x 10 drivers. You would then need to adjust the box tuning to accomodate the new drivers. This can be an interesting project for a cab but IMO a bad idea with a combo amp. Too much work!

I would just buy a separate 2x10 cab - the cost would be about the same and you would have two different sounds (2x10 and the 15).

If you did the modification and did not like the result, you would be stuck with it.
