Technically speaking, your example doesn't fulfill the premise.
Bass on Gainsbourg's Histoire de Melody Nelson was played either by Herbie Flowers or Dave Richmond. It remains unclear.
Anyway, both were subjects of Her Gracious Majesty and therefore, English speakers.
