I loved “You’re in My System,” by the System. It was great piece of synthesized funk/dance music. The video is corny, and singer looks like a non/dancing Michael Jackson wanna be.

Any band that was around in the 1980s gets a pass as far as "corny videos" go; they were all corny! But David Frank is one of the best non-bass playing bass players out there; his synth-bass work with The System was a textbook of groove, pocket, and slick tasty funk.

No worse than Rush videos from the 80's. And boy did they have some bad ones.

You gotta remember, music videos were sort of a brand new thing and they just hadn't figured out what the art was supposed to be yet. There weren't many examples of great landmark videos in 1983.

...and what is strange (at least to me)-
There were some bands that mostly got it.
    Some I would expect-
Duran Duran, Missing Persons, Men At Work, etc.

I would not expect the J. Geils Band to be video-friendly...but they were very entertaining.
