    hey guys,

check out this cool sound that i created...

i used the sub bass setting on my OC2, the distortion/overdrive on my th500, an ebow, and my iphone as a slide.

    enjoy!

Is there a specific bass version of the Ebow available now or did you use the standard guitar version... If so how does it feel to use? Thanks! :)

Any specific reason for the iphone or are you just using it as a simple slide?

    Thanks guys!

@MartinG1957 , it was a regular ebow. It took a lot of practice to be able to get the swells correct, but its worth the time. I use that with my OC2 and some different type of distortion all the time to get that Moog sound.

@nshuman, I use my iPhone for lots of purposes on my phone. I play a note with my tuner app thru the pickups with the right, and hammer on a note with my left hand.My doing this with the OC2 is oscilates between both frequences and creates a really subbed/glitched sound. I also use it to get a theramin sound. I only use it for a slide cause the metal on the phone creates a cooler sound to me than with a slide..... kinda confusing.

I'm going to make some more posts showing the unorthodox techniques to get cool sounds... I mainly do it out of a need cause I dont have a huge budget to create sounds, so I use what I have around me (ebow, OC2, dist, phone, capo, etc).....

Thanks for listening and liking guys!

Ok, cool, I figured you would be using the speaker on the phone for something and not just using the iPhone as the most expensive metal slider ever :) Great stuff!!

  10. Next time turn the camera on and get some POV shots sliding up and down the neck! Sounds awesome.
